"Last month I was in California for a huge competition--the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA)--and that was an individual contest. At other contests you get points and hope you do well because those points determine if you go to nationals or not. I made it though. There were a ton of people from Hawaii and California. I placed fourth overall."
