The same thing happened to me. The summer after 9th grade, I moved from New York to Florida. Well, I immediately got on bad terms with a lot of people because of my negative attitude about being in Florida. But I made up for it by just being me and being friendly. Don't be shy or negative! Now I'm a senior and when I graduate, I'll have good times to look back on in TWO different high schools. --Posted by AEbrunetteQT 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

Do some research. Say you are into a certain kind of music, look up local shows on the internet and find out when they're playing. There are tons of cool kids who share the same interests as you. You could also try joining a community sports team too, if you are into that :) --Posted by quik76 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

If you wanna make friends with people, start out with a simple compliment on clothing or whatever, ask where they got it, and carry on a conversation. Or join drama or something at school and socialize there. Just always be you for you! --Posted by Cheer_Angel38 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

Become a cool loner and everyone will want to be your friend when you want to be alone. It works. --Posted by smirking_emo613 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

Hi, I know how you feel. With my dad's job we move a lot. Have a principal introduce you to someone at school. That was what they did for me and I made friends pretty quickly. What I did when I was bored was ride or walk around town so I would know what people were talking about when they mentioned places. --Posted by Amygal89 10:31AM EST 03/30/04
